What is a Skilled Worker visa?
This visa allows overseas nationals to work in eligible roles with UK employers who are licensed sponsors. It replaced the Tier 2 (General) visa. Skilled Worker visa holders can apply for indefinite leave to remain after five years.
To qualify, applicants must have a job offer from a UK sponsor, meet the salary threshold, and satisfy other eligibility criteria.
Who can apply?
You may be eligible for a Skilled Worker visa if
- You have a confirmed job offer from a licensed UK sponsor
- Your role is on the list of eligible occupations
-
You meet the minimum salary requirement of £38,700 per year
(or the ‘going rate’ for the type of work you’ll be doing, whichever is the highest, unless reduced rate applies) - You meet the English language requirement
- You have a valid certificate of sponsorship (CoS)
We will assess your documents and eligibility before proceeding with your application.

We will advise on which options are available and realistic based on your circumstances.
Why legal support matters
Skilled Worker applications involve strict requirements and documentation.
Common issues include
